Mark you calender for Sunday the 20th
« on: May 05, 2007, 01:09:59 PM »
Mark your calenders.  We are planning to do a epic mt bike ride on the 20th.   We may start at Purisma and ride up to Skyline and then take skyline road over to Skeggs and ride there and then back up to Skyline, back down Purisma.

I know you have figured it out. But in case it's confusing to someone, this event has been postponed to May 27.

Oh wait, is that the Memorial Day weekend? Uh oh... Huston, we have a problem...
Inch by inch, I will get there.

It wasn't a problem whe you wanted to do Downieville LOL.  Let me know if you and Mr Mud cant make it, It should be fun.

We are thinkning of riding on the 20th also.   Kamakazi I saw that they are riding in Bear Valley.  Maybe we can shoot over there on the 20th and then on the 27th we can hook up with Mr Mud and Mudworm to do the Purisma and Skeggs loop.

I have not heard back from Yettime on either of these dates.  I will swing by his office on Monday.

Work calls, I do not think Soquel is a good choice for mudworm at this time.  I plan a long do-able ride with her tomorrow.  I am thinking Fremont Older then ride up Grizzly Flat with perhaps a short loop on Long Ridge, then maybe back up Fremont Older.  Right now I think she needs to log a bunch of miles.  Then technical stuff with just start to happen.

I suppose the good thing is with all the biking my elbow is feeling better.  However, now my neck is bothering me - Dam Helmets.

Built a 2 foot drop, off a downed tree, on the local trail.  Chickened out.

We did that Boy Scout area in Fairfax today.  Almost the whole park is single track. Had a very good time.   We even had a chance to put our skills to the test, chasing a few guys down the lst decent.   There is know real hard climbs, but the fun factor get's a "9"  .  It was worth the $5.00 that they charge to ride.   Next weekend should be fun.

We rode Fremont Older, Grizzly Flat, Peters Creek.  That came out to just over 30 miles.  That was enough since my bike started acting up, I think she needs a good cleaning.

Mr Mud's wife does.  :D

Fremont Older is about 10 miles away from Grizzly Flat. We just linked them together by riding on the road. Peters Creek is across Skyline from Peters Creek.  I know there is a trail map that covers Grizzly Flat and Peters Creek area. Not sure about Fremont Older. Should have checked.

I downloaded our ride to Garmin Training Center. I'll post the map once I get home. The map is very primitive though. motionbased would have been better, however it refused to process my data because I had "too many trackpoints." I accidentally left data recording in the "every second" instead of "every 5 second" mode.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

Thanks Mr Mud's wife   :)

Look forward to your map.  I clicked on this link, this is referencing a place called paradise loop, is this the ride?

Here is our ride. The map more primitive than I remembered.

However, I found the trail maps in PDF format. Here they are.

Inch by inch, I will get there.
