Yeah, I miss that part of living in SC in the winter.....cheap entertainment....rivers over flowing, boats getting beached, anchovies invading the harbor.

I took my boys out last Saturday late evening to help give them an education on what it's like when the weather is biblical.
Found some quality trouble.....

This last storm handed us our asses on Eureka Canyon, never seen the water so high in my time living there. The worst, according to the old time residents was the 82-83 season.

The USGS made a video documenting that season called "Riding the Storm". I used to show it in my geology classes for the landslide portion of the class. CA's two biggest hazards are earthquakes and landslides.
18,000 landslides documented that season.

I hear that, used to read those reports in my early years of climbing and took serious mental note of both potential for screwing up and getting in the way of nature happening. A lot of prudence and a bit of luck later, still typing.

EDIT - whoops - didn't realize Larson is back on the scene as of 2020. I wonder if he could use the Pinnacles crew for fodder?

Beat ya to it about a week ago.
I'd had it with the scraggle seeing as about half my hair had fallen out over the last year

I took that while Kat was in KY in August and I was home alone.
Meant to post it back then but the mood came and went.

I thought about it but what was left had become so scraggly/thin that it just needed to go.
#7 clippers on the sides and back with just an inch or so on top.
My brother said I haven't had it this short since I was 10 and suggested some shoe polish for my beard.
Every once in a while I still reach up and push back through what's left wondering where my ponytail went.
