My bad Brad, I thought that you must have hired a personal trainer to design a custom yoga pose program tailored individually for you given these names, Left to Chance, Slot Machine, Right of Passage, The Joy of Hooking, Off the Hook, Once a Hooker, Second Glance, Scaling the Ramparts, Barbarians at the Gate, Holding the Line, Into the Breach, and V for Victory.

Sorry for my mistake. By the way, how short do they make yoga pants?

Joking aside, I like this mix of route names :)

I make a fun comparison between The Stronghold at Pinnacles, where we put up 16 new routes in 2 1/2 seasons and, up here on Sonora Pass, The Edge of Elsewhere where we did 31 new routes (of similar difficulty and quality) in just this last season.

In some ways hand drilling on lead seems so hard (and more so the older I get). But it slows the process waaaay down, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I can't decide which is funnier - clink's sense of humor or the thought of clink and Brad in Yoga Pants.

Have any normal people been up to the stronghold to verify route quality and the potential delusional nature of the FA parties? Seems like a lot of stars for such a small area.

I guess I will head up tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm only half normal so anything I report should be subject to scrutiny by any outside party.

Tomorrow may be OK. But bear in mind that BAP and Noal were there Sunday and found several of the routes wet. Great Minds, for example, was apparently still running water.

We went up there yesterday.  All of the routes on the lower tier were still totally wet and seeping water.  About half the stuff on the upper tier was dry.  Just got to climb Hidden Treasure.  It had excellent rock quality.  The route Great Minds looks like it  has really good rock too but it was a waterfall.

I will go back but I also enjoy just spending time in that area.  It is really beautiful and quiet.

I like to think of myself as normal and everybody else is abnormal.

I will bring a shovel and divert those water sources! In a few years we will have many more climbable water streaks.

Great minds is probably in my top 5, definitely top 10, pinnacles routes that I have done. It has stellar rock quality and is well protected and decently long. I would do the hike for great minds alone then there is a great 10d by Gavin right next to it. Pair that with being able to link a C2 route to a 5.7 or 5.9 water streak then to a 5.7 chimney or 10c face for a 3 pitch adventure with good views and nobody around. I personally enjoy the Stronghold.

Yeah, but Marco are you NORMAL!

If thats the Marco I know from the edge, then he's well on his way to being an abnormalitie like us (or at least half).

Are there you the Marco that was climbing son of dawn last month?

Yessir that would be me.

If you are mostly recovered from your injury I recommend checking out the Stronghold for Great Minds at the minimum. I found it better than get smart and in similar style to Lava Falls just shorter.

But like you said as someone on my way to being an abnormalitie, I am biased.

Hopefully you get out there and enjoy it!

Of the two three star 5.10a routes mentioned above, Get Smart is closer to a trail and to parking than Great Minds. We also didn't release details of Great Minds until recently (so Great Minds has probably only been led by 10 or 12 people so far).

So Get Smart made it onto Mountain Project where it seems to be getting really good reviews. And it is a really good route. But I agree with Marco: I think Great Minds is slightly better. At least when it is dry ;)
