Thanks man. We got a good start today. That was one of the best days I've had climbing in a while. Gorgeous weather once it cleared.

And I got enough happy birthday phone call that the drive home almost seemed short.  ;D

Merry Christmas everyone.

That's great video. Sorry about the language, but that was one of the strongest, boldest leads I've seen in a while. If you watch carefully it seems like he almost pops off at 45 seconds. I thought for sure he was off then.

Holy F-ing Happy Birthday!
That was the finest effort I have seen, watching and listening to you and Gavin.
Brutal, intense and so sweet. Congratulations!

Happy Birthday, Brad!

Thanks for the video link, JC and KC... Makes me tired again just looking at it! (Funny how unknown rock quality on a first lead attempt and no pro above will crank up the difficulty of a sequence of moves!)

It was an excellent day out there with you all, and worth the effort. More good days to come, I'm sure.

And for about 15 minutes yesterday, I hadn't "done every sub-5.10 climbing route in the park" (J.C., K.C. and Jon had just put up a new route). I can see that this is going to swing back and forth in a fun way  ;)

I'm tired enough today that going to the office sounds good (I need the rest).

Let's let Lucas weigh in on that statement....

Nice photo.

We'll call that look "dubious."

Still looking good from behind at 54. From that distance.

BTW that was a great bolt placement and the fixed pin may be the best at Pinns.

Agree with clink about the bolt placement and fixed pin; awesome effort, and the pin adds some definite class to an already sweet line.

Thanks Kat.

Great day so far. Coffee and breakfast. A run with the dogs on the railroad grade, work on the second edition guidebook, a good book, and chores around the house. Plus, Katie called me for a long chat.

And, my brother and family will arrive from Colorado this evening. It may sound odd, but my brother shares my birthday. No, we're not twins. He's four years younger than me.

I thought you were pulling crud at the basalt columns.
Sounds like you are having a good time.
Glad you guys are getting family together again.

We put it off until tomorrow. I hope to get well and truly pumped.

Then we're going to a family dinner at Seven Sisters.
