Henry Coe State Park February 15, 2014

A few photos from my ride at Coe…

Can't recall seeing this done before in this area; they've mowed the meadows along Hunting Hollow Road:

This photo also tells you a lot about the weather today.

Spider web in the mist:

Lyman Willson Ridge Trail

What It Was Like Out There™

Wagon Road

In real life it was possible to see the snow capped Sierras in the distance.

Weeeeeeeeeee

Descending Rose Dam Trail.

It was a 1 Balloon Day

The counter and sink have finally been replaced at Pacheco Camp:

…very helpful when filtering the water. The sink drains straight on to the ground.

Had a nice chat at Pacheco Camp with Mark H. He was on his way back from Mississippi Lake.

Made a cairn at Phoneline & Coit:

My best ever!

In my November 2 ride report, I told the story of the 2013 Henry Coe Adventure Trex organizer driving a SUV off the edge of Coit Road:

Today I see at the scene of the crime, a couple of road cones:

I imagined that the incident report concluded—as they do these days—with an Action Plan To Prevent This From Ever Happening Again, and in this case, it was "We'll put some cones there, Boss". :-)

There seems to be an infinite supply of trees ready to tip-over in the Live Oak Spring Trail area:

November 9th 2013 we had Live Oak Spring Trail cleared but now more trees have fallen on Live Oak Spring Trail! 2 or 3 big pines and a few small ones. Half-dozen times I pulled debris off the trail. Didn't so much sawing though, just a few branches which would snag folks getting through.

LOL , LOL, and LOL again. Thank you!

The cones make sense to me -- effective and inexpensive. I'm glad that they didn't go overboard on preventative measures.
Inch by inch, I will get there.
