I'll know more when I see the doctor again next week. I could soooooo use a weekend away from home! Back-country hiking and talus hopping might not be in the game plan though until at least mid-October. By the time I get off crutches, my foot will not have borne any real weight for nine weeks and I definitely fuxored the ligaments when I broke the bone, so it will take some time before I'm even walking normally on flat pavement.
As for staying in shape, however, I'm more than happy to go to the gym if someone is willing to drive my sorry ass over there while I'm still in das boot. I can belay at the gym while on crutches (provided you don't do any crazy overhanging routes on lead) and can definitely do some upper body workouts.
