Shoot me now.

Should I bring my shoes?  Marymoor sessions?

Hell with that. I'd settle right now for just having a wife back....

Rain through Monday.  Was pouring earlier.

Sure, bring shoes, I have not hit up Marymoor yet.  If you can get out early I found a crag with possible lines.  easy to hard, nothing great but it is new.

On Thursday, good potential for that. Will put harness in too. Can you bring an extra chalk bag with you so I don't have to dust my undies?

thx

Spent the week at her sisters (they really enjoy hanging out together). She said she'd come back. Maybe tomorrow. I'd be pretty OK with that.

No space for packages in the luggage.
Though if you box it up ready for shipping, I have a ups account and can ship it when I get back?

Nah Munge, he knows where to find it when he comes down again (which better be soon).

Remember.........Rainer and Olympia are not real beer...

Possible change of plans.

We got back from dinner at Dawson's and it's 42 f$%#@g degrees here.

I texted that to Vicki and she said that if it starts snowing, she's not coming back after all. I went out and checked - there's not a cloud in the sky (thank God).

THE BOSS

One day a man goes to a pet shop to buy a parrot. The assistant takes the man to the parrot section and asks the man to choose one. The man asks, ''How much is the yellow one?''

The assistant says, ''$2000.'' The man is shocked and asks the assistant why it's so expensive. The assistant explains, ''This parrot is a very special one. He knows typewriting and can type really fast.''

''What about the green one?'' the man asks.

The assistant says, ''He costs $5000 because he knows typewriting and can answer incoming telephone calls and takes notes.''

''What about the red one?'' the man asks.

The assistant says, ''That one's $10,000.''

The man says, ''What does HE do?''

The assistant says, ''I don't know, but the other two call him boss.''

: )

Almost makes up for what I think is a cracked rib.  Crashed on the mountain bike a couple weeks ago.  Went about 6 feet or so vertical down onto my shoulder.  Have to remember not to tap that front brake on the real steep descents.  It was starting to get better then last weekend I picked up a ladder and heard a small pop and then pain.  Back to square one, OMG coughing hurts so much.  Just breathing deep is uncomfortable.

You and your damn mountain bikes. I don't remember you ever getting hurt climbing; not even on some of the scary-ass Pinnacles routes you've done. Put you on a bike however....

One would think that you'd connect the dots.

As a kid those connect the dot books always gave me fits.  I still get an uncomfortable feeling when I see them.  Bought my niece a push bike for her second birthday.

I messed up ligaments in a couple of fingers climbing, and probably added to some of my back problems.  But yeah, climbing seemed to result in fewer injuries.

Here is a tongue in cheek video on the local builders.  There is a certain amount of truth to it.
https://www.pinkbike.com/video/494539/ (https://www.pinkbike.com/video/494539/)

There are trails like this scattered around.  No maps, no advertising, you just have to ferret them out.  Obviously I am no where near this good but this is actually the flavor of some of the trails.

No wrapping just trying not to push to hard.  Staying off the bike sucks.  Have been invited on some night rides by some locals and I declined.

As the old Sherpa saying goes....
If you are not crashing, you are not riding hard enough.

You should take care as the reflexes get slower the older you get.

JC that looks like my first motorized scoot, circa 3rd grade or something.  Rob I moved on to Moto's in junior high then in my 20's grew up and started to ride mountain bikes.

JC, I agree that guy is really good.  Fairly amazing is that their are a lot of unknown guys around here that can really ride.  This is kind of a crazy rib injury since it is kind of high, up under my armpit and peck area.  I have looked at armor, perhaps.  Maybe I should just go all local and wear carharts and a t-shirt.

Then again, what would you do if you lived where it rains 367 days a year.

Funny dude. You can see the date on that mini bike pic - 1969 and it was a 1964 Rupp - bought used for $125 (a lot back then).

I love to ride and always have - wheelies, skids, slides, jumps, with the occasional crash of course. You gotta test your limits some of the time to see how far you can push it right? Sometimes you push it too far.

How do you like my protective gear on the Yamaha? Bell helmet and Italian boots (Sidi Full Bores) - denim in between.  :ihih:

Engine blew shortly after purchase. Replaced it with a Tecumseh. That mini was notorious for throwing the chain. A friend of mine gave me a rigid rear frame with a leading link front end and it was much better. Used to have a blast riding around in the woods, along the tracks and on a homemade local motocross track. Good times

Here is the modded mini with better shocks and the leading link front end.
I also changed to a steel shoe clutch, a bigger back sprocket, beefier chain and had sawtooth footpegs welded further back for better geometry.
It's in front of my cork wall in the basement room in Akron - big cork tiles so I could put up pics and posters easily.
This was the last house we lived in before moving to KY

My parents also let me paint the cement block walls alternating orange and black (circa 1973)
This is the only picture I have of just part of one wall and the table I painted.

Jumping the mini at what would be my new high school in KY - end of summer 1975
I met who would become my best friend that day - Stokes Huffman - he had a Yamaha 175 - I was soooooo envious!
